What you do not pay extra for
This is where CRTO’s cost structure differs from almost everything else on an Indian candidate’s shortlist, and it is the part most price comparisons get wrong.
- No exam fee. OSCP and CPENT both charge for the exam separately.
- No lab extension. CRTP labs run on a 30-day clock and cost roughly ₹4,100 per extension; CRTO labs do not expire.
- No retake voucher. A CRTP retake is about ₹8,250 and an OSCP retake about USD 249. A CRTO retake is free.
- No renewal or maintenance fee. There are no annual CPE charges to keep it.
The practical effect is that CRTO’s advertised price and its real price are the same number. For most other certifications on this list they are not, and the gap widens for exactly the candidates most likely to need a second attempt.

CRTO sits in the middle of the ladder on sticker price and at the bottom on risk-adjusted price, because it is the only one of the four where a failed attempt does not cost money. Against OSEP it is roughly a quarter of the price. Paying for CRTO from India
The listed price is in GBP and the transaction is international, which is where Indian candidates hit friction rather than at the price itself.
- Many Indian debit cards decline international transactions by default. Enable international usage first, or use a credit card or forex card.
- Expect a foreign-currency markup from your bank on top of the GBP amount, plus applicable TCS on foreign remittance — budget a little above the rupee figure quoted here.
- The GBP price is the one that is fixed. Because the rupee equivalent moves daily, paying on a favourable day is worth more than any discount CRTO offers, since it does not run regional pricing.
Is CRTO worth ₹51,700?
CRTO is a specialist certification, not an entry point, and its value depends entirely on where you already are. If you are heading for an Active Directory red-team or C2 operator role — Indian BFSI internal red teams, Big 4 offensive-security practices, product-company red teams — it is one of the cheaper credentials that hiring managers in that niche actually recognise, and the unlimited-retake structure means the price does not escalate if the first attempt does not land.

Unlimited. Retakes are included at no extra cost, subject to a cooldown between attempts. A failed attempt costs you time rather than money, which is unusual among offensive-security certifications and materially lowers the real cost of the certification.
Is CRTO cheaper than OSCP?
Substantially. CRTO is about ₹51,700 all-in, against roughly ₹1.4 lakh for an OSCP Learn One bundle — CRTO is around a third of the price. They are not substitutes though: OSCP is a broad penetration-testing certification, CRTO is specialised in Active Directory attack paths and C2 operator tradecraft.
Can I pay for CRTO with an Indian debit card?
Usually yes, but the charge is in GBP, so it is an international transaction. Many Indian debit cards block or fail these by default. A credit card with international usage enabled, or a forex card, is the more reliable route. Expect your bank’s foreign-currency markup and applicable TCS on top of the GBP price.
Has the CRTO price changed?
Yes, and the structure changed with it. CRTO previously sold the course and the exam voucher separately with metered lab hours.
