OSEP certification cost in India 2026, at a glance
OSEP is where pentesting starts to look like real red teaming: bypassing antivirus, getting past application whitelisting, and moving through a hardened Active Directory environment. It’s a serious step up from OSCP, and the price reflects that.
If you’re trying to work out what OSEP will actually cost you in rupees, here’s everything in one place: the official options, the extras, and a realistic total budget.
| PEN-300 Course + Cert Bundle | US$1,749 (about ₹1,70,000): 90 days of lab access + 1 exam attempt |
| Learn One subscription | US$2,749 (about ₹2,67,000): 12 months of access + 2 exam attempts |
| Exam retake | US$249 (about ₹24,100) |
| Optional mentored training in India | ₹70,000–₹1,30,000 |
| Exam format | 47 hours 45 minutes hands-on, then 24 hours to submit the report (proctored) |
| Realistic first-attempt budget | ₹1,70,000 (self-study) to about ₹3,00,000 (with mentoring) |
Bundle or Learn One for OSEP?
Course + Cert Bundle (about ₹1,70,000). PEN-300 course, 90 days of labs and one exam attempt. PEN-300 is a long course with a lot of lab content, so 90 days is tight unless you can study close to full time.
Learn One (about ₹2,67,000). Twelve months of access plus two exam attempts. Honestly? For OSEP this is what we recommend to most people. The extra lab time matters more here than for almost any other OffSec course, because the challenge labs are where everything finally clicks.
If you’re on a tight budget and already strong on Windows internals and Active Directory, the bundle can work. Just plan your 90 days carefully before you start.
What your money buys: what PEN-300 actually teaches
It helps to know what you’re paying for. PEN-300 covers the techniques modern internal tests and red team engagements rely on:
Client-side code execution through Office documents, JScript and HTML applications.
Antivirus evasion and process injection, including writing your own loaders rather than relying on public tools.
Bypassing application whitelisting and PowerShell’s Constrained Language Mode.
Active Directory and lateral movement, including Kerberos delegation abuse, MSSQL attacks and moving between domains and forests.
Linux post-exploitation and kiosk breakouts.

Your realistic total OSEP budget
| How you prepare | What you pay | Approximate total |
|---|---|---|
| Self-study, bundle, pass first time | Bundle only | ₹1,70,000 |
| Self-study, bundle, one retake | Bundle + 1 retake | ₹1,94,100 |
| Learn One, self-study | Learn One (2 attempts included) | ₹2,67,000 |
| Bundle + mentored training in India | Bundle + ₹70,000–₹1,30,000 | ₹2,40,000–₹3,00,000 |
Don’t forget the indirect costs either: foreign-exchange charges on your card, and a few days of leave for a nearly 48-hour exam plus the report.
Cheaper alternatives worth knowing about
OSEP isn’t the only red team certification, and it isn’t the cheapest. If your main goal is Active Directory attacks, CRTP and CRTO cost a fraction of the price (around ₹24,100 and ₹51,700) and are well respected. Plenty of people take CRTP or CRTO first, then OSEP once they’re sure red teaming is their path.
We compared OSEP directly with OSCP, including costs side by side, in our OSEP vs OSCP guide.
Is OSEP worth the cost in India?
If you want to work in red teaming or adversary simulation, yes. OSEP proves you can operate against defended environments, not just vulnerable lab boxes, and that’s what Indian red teams, consulting firms and global capability centres look for in senior hires. Red team specialists in India commonly earn in the ₹15–35 LPA range and above.
Just make sure you’re ready. OSEP assumes OSCP-level skills plus comfort with C#, PowerShell and Windows internals. If you’re not there yet, our after-OSCP roadmap shows the sensible order.
